Bring a current, acceptable government-issued photo ID unless another lawful identification method has been arranged in advance.
Should I sign my document before the appointment?
Usually, wait. Some notarial acts require signing in the notary's presence. If you are unsure, leave the signature line blank and follow the document recipient's instructions.
How are mobile appointments priced?
Your quote separates statutory notarial acts from travel. Kay Notary's company rate is $0.725 per business mile—below the current 76¢ federal business rate effective July 1, 2026—with estimated mileage disclosed and agreed before dispatch.
Can a notary tell me which certificate I need?
No. A notary cannot choose the notarial act or provide legal, tax, or immigration advice. The signer or document recipient must identify the required act.
